700% faster hashing in Flutter with Rust and Flutter Rust Bridge

The trick wasn’t Dart. It was leaving it.

For a crypto wallet, the encryption was CPU-heavy, and pure Dart couldn’t keep up.

So I moved the hashing into Rust and bridged it back with Flutter Rust Bridge.

The result: 700% faster hashing, 60% less processing time, the same clean Dart API on the surface.

Dart handles 95% of a Flutter app beautifully. For the other 5%, crypto, heavy math, real-time, Rust and the FFI bridge is a superpower most Flutter devs never reach for.
